Obituary for Martha I. Smith Martha I. Smith, age 83, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away May 18, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Dr. Richard Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens, 793 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA 30680 on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11am. Martha was born July 3, 1934 in Harlem Springs, OH to the late Homer and Hazel Lawrence of Carrollton, OH. She retired as an LPN with Gwinnett Medical System with nearly 30 years of employment. Afterwards, she served many families as a private duty nurse. She continued to minister to others by serving with Campers on Mission and the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home. She enjoyed providing comfort food and baked goods to her many friends, family and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Hazel Lawrence of Carrollton, OH She is survived by her: Husband: Earl Smith, of Kennesaw, GA (formerly of Winder and Duluth, GA) Son: Earl Dean Smith (Wanda) Grandchildren: Josh & Rebecca Smith, Chad & Amanda Smith Daughter: Debora Smith Grandchildren: William Smith Daughter: Cheryl Smith Morris (Mitch) Grandchildren: Lauren Morris Adam Morris Great Grandchildren, Logan, Riley Grace and Asa Bennett In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home in her memory. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
