John Joseph Barringer III, 76, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Joe was full of charisma, loved people and had a gift of making others happy. In his presence, you were accepted, befriended, and engaged to full capacity. He was born on August 1, 1941 in Atlanta, GA to the late John Joseph Barringer Jr. and Frances McAllister Barringer. He was a huge Georgia Bulldogs fan, but his true love and passion was his family and took great pride in being a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The visitation will be at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel in Eatonton on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM, followed by a service in our chapel at 4 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. He is survived by his children Leigh Tipton (Scott), of Braselton, Jay Barringer (Amy) of Athens, Angie Vinson (Mike)of Murfreesboro, TN, grandchildren Destin Tipton, Taylor Tipton, Brooke Barringer, Jack Barringer, Kate Barringer, Angel Posey, Macie Savage, Zac Vinson and Haley Fuller, great grandchildren Raelyn Posey, Scarlett Savage, brothers Doug ‘Alex’ Barringer, Robert Barringer (Margie), sisters Connie TeSelle (John), Nancy Barringer. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
