Jerry Davis, age 70, of Ambrose, GA passed away on Monday May 28, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Jacksonville, FL following an brief illness. Mr. Davis was born on October 30, 1947 in Coffee County, GA the son of the late John Hiram Davis and Anita Cothern Davis. Mr. Davis worked as a truck driver for Elixir Industries and was a member of Bushnell Chapel, Douglas, GA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Durden Davis. Survivors include his wife, Joy Kent Davis of Ambrose, GA; son, John Edwin Davis and wife Laura of Waycross, GA; two grandchildren, Matthew Lawton Davis of Waycross, GA and Mary Rylie Davis of Waycross, GA; two brothers, Terrell Davis of Douglas, GA and Michael Davis of Douglas, GA. Funeral services will be Thursday May 31, 2018 at 2:00pm at Bushnell Chapel with Rev. Gerald Gardner and Rev. Joe Vaughn officiating. Interment to follow at New Hope Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Sims Funeral Home. In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to American Heart Association, Stroke Association or church of your choice.
