Ida Mae Swaim Strickland, age 91, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at MeSun Hospice in Lawrenceville after a short lung disease illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker. Ida was born on May 23, 1926 in Gwinnett County to Ervin Swaim and Flora Givens Swaim. She graduated from Bethesda High School as Class Salutatorian. She enjoyed reading, boating, skiing and spending time with her grandchildren and the love of her life, Keever Strickland, her husband of 61 years. She was a member of Tucker First Baptist Church and retired from Tabor & Company CPA Firm of Decatur after more than 30 years of service. Ida was predeceased by her husband, Dave Keever Strickland, her brothers, Edwin Swaim, Jesse Swaim and Norris Swaim. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Deloach of Snellville and Rebecca (Mike) Gimbel of Plantation, FL; sister, Louise Lanford; 7 grandchildren, Robert (Mary) Harper, Brian (Kristi) Harper, David Gimbel, Elisabeth (Timmy) Moncrief, Heather Gimbel, Zachary Gimbel and Susan (Walter) Sturges; 6 great grandchildren, Shawna Strub, Michael Sturges, Lauren Harper, Selah Moncrief, Judah Moncrief and Luke Harper; 1 great great grandchild, Emerson Strub. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MeSun Hospice at 88 Johnson Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, (770) 564-2726.
