Helen Costas Peperitis Mize, 83, of Stockbridge, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away Monday, May 28, 2018. Born January 25, 1935, in Oceanside, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gus Costas and Sara Pearsol Peperitis. Helen worked alongside her husband, Henry, cultivating and growing a successful commercial grading business, Henry C. Mize Grading and Hauling, Inc., for over 30 years. Always… Read More » opening her home to family and friends, no one ever left without a feeling of love, a smile on their face and a full stomach. Helen was a social butterfly and was a member of the “Red-Hatters”. After the passing of her husband, Henry, Helen and her dog companion, Sam, spent the majority of their time riding through the pasture waving to the neighbors. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with her beloved grandsons – making sure they always had their coat on. Helen is survived by her daughters, Mary Mize and Laura Jordan and her husband, Keith; grandsons, Jason Mize and Matthew Jordan; dog companion, Sam; sister, Mary; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clifford Mize; and son, John Clifford Mize. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 with a service at 12:30 p.m. at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Larry T. Burgess officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Feel free to leave the family your condolences via the guestbook provided.
