Obituary for Harry Rowell Harry Marvin Rowell, 89, of Musella, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 17, 2018. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church, Reverend Alan Wheeler will officiate. Immediately following the service, Mr. Rowell will be laid to rest with military honors in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Born on January 25, 1929, in Crawford County, Marvin was the son of the late Bill and Eva Rowell. He proudly served our country in the United States Army, during the time of the Korean Conflict. He was a recipient of the Korean Service medal as well as a Bronze Star. After his time in the service, Mr. Rowell began working for Georgia Kraft, now known as Graphic Packaging as a paper tester in the lab. He was employed there for over 40 years and retired in the mid 1990’s. It was almost impossible to keep him inside, and he enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Mr. Rowell kept honey bees and was known as the “bee keeper” by many. He also loved carpentry and working with wood, making different items. Marvin was a committed family man, always making sure he put his family first in everything he did. Mr. Rowell was preceded in death by his parents as well as his adoring wife of 66 years, Mary Elaine Rowell and two daughters; Brenda Rowell and Carolyn Rowell. One great grandson, Brendan Harris, and three brothers; Dan Rowell, Tom Rowell, and Cecil Rowell. Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. Daughter; Lynn Rowell Carter (Brad). Three grandchildren; Tracy Childres (Chad), Bradley Carter (Akeana), and Brandon Carter (Heather). Six great grandchildren; Destiny Harris, Allie Carter, Haiden Childres, Jaxson Carter, Brody Carter, and Braxton Carter. As well as his sister Ruby Rowell Horne, brother, Hugh Rowell (Betty) and a large extended family. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to Midway Baptist Church, 1200 Moseley Rd, Macon, GA 31220 with a memo designating it to the cemetery fund.
