Glenis Gay, age 70, of Dublin passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Graveside services for Mr. Gay will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Rev. Kevin Moore and Dr. Larry Daniel will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Born in Laurens County, Glenis was son of the late Elvis Gay and Loriene Flanders Smith; also proceeded in death by sister and brother-in-law Janie and Tony Poole. Mr. Glenis was a deacon at Mount Zion Baptist Church. He was a former employee of J.P. Stevens/Forstman for 22 years. He retired from Georgia Department of Transportation after 12 years. He enjoyed dirt track racing and he served in the United States Army. Survivors include his wife; Cheryl Harvey Gay of Dublin; son, Rodney Gay (Jessica Collins) of Dublin; grandsons, Josh Warnock (Sarah Warnock) of Cadwell, Caleb Gay of Dublin, Hunter Gay of Ellabell; great-grandson, Kasen Warnock of Cadwell; sisters, Sherry Rogers (Coley Rogers) of Eastman, Judy Herndon (Johnny Herndon) of Cedar Grove; and brother-in-law, James Harvey (Faye Harvey) of Eastman. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Mount Zion Baptist Church also Mr. Keith Brooks and Mr. Jimmy Arthur.
