Devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Cleo Geraldine “Jerry” Brown went to heaven on May 2, 2018. Upon becoming a grandmother, she also became known by all as “Gran”. She was married to her late husband Ray for 59 years and they were lovebirds until the end. Jerry was a nurse by profession, but caring for others was just a part of who she was. A graduate of the Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing, she spent the last 25 years of her career working for Dr. Russell Wallace in his neurological practice in Decatur. They were quite the team, practicing medicine and caring for patients the old-fashioned way. The patients loved her. Jerry was a member of Jackson Hill Baptist Church, and then Briarlake Baptist Church for many years where she served in various capacities. She was involved in Women’s Missionary Union, taught missions to 4th and 5th grade girls, and worked with Vacation Bible School for many summers. She was quick to meet a need when she saw it. She is survived by daughter Robin Brown and her wife Lisa Block, daughter Suzanne McFadden and her husband Bruce, grandson Blake McFadden, granddaughter Lauren McFadden, sister-in-law Jean Dollar, brother and sister-in-law Bob and Ann Brown, sister-in-law Beth Wheeler, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14 at 11:00am, followed by a graveside service at noon at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Garden, 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy., Tucker, GA.
