It is with a sad heart and deep sense of loss that we announce the passing on May 11, 2018 of Brother Terry McLaughlin, Past Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of Florida who answered God’s call and quietly slipped from this earthly life. Brother Terry was born October 22, 1942 in Brookville, Pennsylvania. He was initiated on June 03, 1989 in Tampa Chapter No. 11, Tampa, Florida. He served as Worthy Patron of Tampa Chapter No. 11 in 1990 and served and additional eight times, including membership in Queen Ester Chapter No. 4, Mystic Chapter No. 110 and Friendship Chapter No. 209. He was given the commission of Grand Representative of Arkansas in Florida for 1996 – 1998. He served as Worthy Grand Patron in 1999 – 2000 in the Clawson-McLaughlin Grand Family with Mrs. Tammy Clawson as Worthy Grand Matron at the “Star Lights in the World Session” in St. Petersburg, Florida. Brother Terry was very active in Grand Chapter and served on many Grand Chapter committees including Chairman of the Finance Committee. Brother Terry served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years and worked for the State of Florida for 17 years. He served as Worshipful Master at Hillsborough Lodge 25 in 1990. He was an instructor for new Masons for over 25 years. Brother Terry was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Ward and survived by a niece, Mrs. Terri Bridges, Tampa, FL and a nephew, Dayton Ward of Lee’s Summit, MO. Brother Terry will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread on his favorite lake along with his mother.
