George Thomas Sapp 1944 2018

Obituary of George Sapp George Thomas “Tommy” Sapp, age 73, of St. James City, passed away May 26, 2018 in Fort Myers. Tommy was born in Nocatee, Florida on July 8, 1944 to Thomas Virgil and Eva Elizabeth Summeralls Sapp. He grew up in rural Moore Haven, graduated from Moore Haven High School, and went into the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Turkey at Incirlik Air Base, then he transferred to London, England where he became a military mail handler at Heathrow Airport- he received and dispersed mail to all the military installations across the region. Tommy is survived by his love and soulmate, Donna, daughter; Alana Drennon and son-in-law; Barry, five grandons, one granddaughter, two great grandchildren, one step-son Reg Lewis. He was preceded by his son; Todd Thomas Sapp and his parents. Coming home to Clewiston and started working for the United States Postal Service working in Clewiston until he retired in 1995. He married his partner of Life Donna in 1990 and they celebrated their 28th anniversary this past January. Tommy dearly loved to fish and hunt. His biggest passion was fishing on Lake Okeechobee for most of his life. Life was good, great people in the community became “family” and fishing was a daily adventure and he loved bringing in fresh fish and frying them up for dinner with grits and hush puppies Celebration of Tommy’s life will be 12 noon, Saturday June 2, 2018 in Akin-Davis Funeral Home in Clewiston.
