Obituary for Glenn Reid “Glenn the Barber” Agnew On Monday, May 21, 2018, Glenn Reid Agnew passed away suddenly at the age of 48 from a massive coronary. Born in Rockville, Connecticut, Glenn was the son of Gary Agnew and Joyce (Kirby) Guarino. Following in his mother’s footsteps, Glenn attended cosmetology school and became a barber. He was known locally as ‘Glenn the Barber’ and his business, The Village Barber Shop, located in South Meriden, is a local landmark and his customers were not only his clients, but his friends. He loved his business and was an active member of the South Meriden community. Glenn loved fishing, reggae music, and anything ginger or mango, but the real loves of his life were his children who were his pride and joy. He also loved his animals, Knox, Twinkle, and Sugar and his special friend, Apple. Glenn is survived by his father, Gary Agnew and stepmother Kathy Agnew, his brother Ryan Agnew and his partner Josh Agnew, his children, Ian Agnew and Eva Agnew, his former wife, Amanda Agnew and her family, the Portos, his second families, the Maldonados and Bob and Joan Rancourt, and his life partner, Amy Gagnon. Glenn is predeceased by his mother, Joyce (Kirby) Guarino. Glenn was loved by so many people in his community and in his family and circle of friends. He will be missed and cherished and held close in so many hearts. On a clear night, we can look up and we will find him among the stars. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 25 from 4-7 pm at John J. Ferry and Sons, 88 East Main Street, Meriden.
