Kenneth George Decher Jr 1946 2018

Obituary of Kenneth Decher, Jr. Kenneth Decher passed away May 6, 2018, at age 71. Ken was proud of his hometown of Fair Haven, New Jersey, where he was born and raised, and where he attended Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and Monmouth College. He moved to California, where he lived for forty years (Palo Alto, Mountain View, Corralitos); married his wife, Joan; and raised his son, David. During his years here, Ken graduated from San Jose State University and taught in Morgan Hill. Ken loved baseball and basketball, reading, growing vegetables, dogs, beach walks, and good music. He will be remembered as a man with strong convictions and a deep sense of justice. He was unfailingly generous, caring, and loyal to family and friends. Ken loved a good conversation and could be counted on for lively stories and his dry, witty humor. He was a great soul, and will be sorely missed. Ken is predeceased by parents Kenneth Sr. and Helen. He is loved and remembered by wife Joan, son David (Becca), brother Conrad Decher (Vanda), sister–in-law Barbara Cohen (Morty), brother-in-laws Paul Almeter (Dee Ann), Kevin Almeter (Im Chung), David Almeter (Gina); nephews Charles Creel (Marge) and Abe Cohen; nieces Kim Barkow; Mariah Cohen; Lauren, Carrie, Becky, and Gabrielle Almeter; and a wide group of friends. There will be a private family service, with a celebration of life at a later time. We encourage you to remember Ken while enjoying a good beer or hot pepper, gardening, reaching out to a stranger, or donating to your local animal shelter.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Kenneth George Decher Jr 1946 2018. Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gnds
