Mr. Jay B. Jackson age 71 of Jaybee Lane in Castleberry, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at his residence. He was to Constable of Conecuh County for 7 years; the Mayor of Castleberry for 12 years; the chief of Police of Castleberry for 7 years, serving in law enforcement for a total of 40 years. He was also on the Tri City Medical Board and was the Lieutenant of the Bappist Campus Boys Home in Birminham for several years. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Cope Keahey Chapel. Rev. Benny Stokes will officiate. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Cope Keahey Funeral Home. Cope-Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with these arrangements. Survivors Include, Wife, Wilma Jackson of Castleberry, Sons; James Jackson, and Jimmy Jackson both of Castleberry, Grandchildren; Shawna Jackson, Ricky and Samantha Gilbert, Crystal McAvoy, Jimmy and Lindsay Reeves, and Kayla Kennedy. Great-Grandchildren; Makenna Coleman, Justin Coleman, Raelynn Gilbert, Gabriel Kennedy, James McAvoy, Dylan Reeves, Sydney Reeves, and Piper Reeves. Serving as Pallbearers, Blake Addison, Kenny Higdon. Paul Calloway, Archey Tanner, David Simms, and Charlie Jenkins.
