She grew up in Andrews, Texas, graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton and then earned a Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of Minnesota. She was an elementary school librarian for over 35 years, most of which were at Weinert Elementary School in Seguin, Texas. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Hendrick, her niece and nephew-in-law Cristina and Matthew Stroh, and their children, Evalyn and Collin. Her brother, David, and her father, Tommy, preceded her in death. Lynda loved singing in the church choir, wildflowers, summers in Colorado, her chihuahuas, and children’s literature. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing costumes for theater productions. Her biggest hobby was quilting; she made over 100 “eye spy” quilts for children, many of which were donated to children’s hospitals. The funeral service for Lynda will be at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Seguin, Texas on Tuesday, April 24th at 10 am. Reception will follow.
