Funeral services for Wilton Bailey, age 89, will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Evans Chapel Methodist Church in Leona, Texas. Rev. Sharon Sabom and Rev. Malcolm Monroe will officiate the service. Interment will be in the Evans Chapel Cemetery adjacent to the church. Visitation will take place from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. James “Wilton” Bailey was born November 28, 1928 in Madison County, Texas… Read More » to Clark Urial & Luna Myrtle (Goodrum) Bailey. He grew up on a farm and worked hard during his childhood and teenage years helping his family maintain that farm. Wilton served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received a Bachelors Degree in Vocational Agriculture from Sam Houston State University. He established a tractor dealership in Lubbock, Texas named Bailey Ford Tractor. Wilton was a natural salesman and always enjoyed talking and visiting with people. Wilton was a hard and dedicated worker and had done so his whole life. He moved to Rosenberg in 1974 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Wilton passed away April 17, 2018 in Rosenberg, Texas he was preceded in death by both of his parents; sister, Edna Young and son, Brian Wilton Bailey. Surviving family includes wife, Mary Lou Bailey of Rosenberg; Rebecca Zapalac (Mark) of Orchard, TX; sister, Sue Batson of Madisonville; grandchildren, Christopher Bailey, Julia Kovacs, Haleigh Winfrey, Dylan Zapalac, Brody Zapalac and Elena Zapalac and great grandchildren, Alex Bailey, Isabel Bailey and Matilda Kovacs. Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
