Dimas Costa 2018

Dimas M. “Dan” Costa, age 89, of Rumford, died April 3, 2018, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of the late Laurinda D. (Diogo) Costa and Jean Patefield Costa. Born in New Bedford, MA, he was a son of the late Francisco and Maria da Gloria (Arruda) Costa.
He worked as a Civil Engineer from 1952 to 1998. He proudly served our country with the US Army during WWII.
He is survived by his children; Margaret L. Costa and her husband John Manopoli of Jamaica Plain, MA, Susan L. Costa and her husband John Lawrence of Columbia, MD, Elizabeth M. Costa and her husband Harry Smith of Jamaica Plain, MA, Daniel L. Costa and his husband David Collins of Stonington, CT, Thomas P. Costa and his wife Margaret Costa of Rumford, RI., His 11 grandchildren; Hilary Costa, Sean Klipple, Erin Klipple, Paul Costa, Mary Costa, Laura Costa, Elizabeth Costa, John Dimas Costa, Liliana Costa-Smith, Elena Costa-Smith, and Isabel Costa- Smith. He is survived by his sister Lydia Rusnock of S. Dartmouth, MA.
His funeral will begin on Monday (4/9) at 9am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am in St. Margaret’s Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford. Burial with Military Honors will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday (4/8) from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of RI or the Alzheimer’s Association.
