Mary A Baiocco 2018

Mary A. Baiocco, 89, of Tamaqua, PA died on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Coaldale, PA. She was the wife of the late Vincent J. Baiocco who died in 1988 on their 40th Wedding Anniversary. Born in Middleport, PA on February 5, 1929, Mary was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Niadna) Welgo. A 1947 graduate of the former Blythe Township High School, she was one of the first employees for John Morgan at the former Morgan Knitting Mills and also worked at the Purling Mills. A member of The Parish of St. John the 23rd and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Mary dedicated her life to the church and to helping care for people, often opening her house to anyone in need of a place to stay. She was a good baker, had a green thumb, and was also a member of the Italian Club. Mary is survived by sons, Vincent J. Baiocco of Pottsville, PA and John L. Baiocco of Emmaus, PA; daughter, Yvonne Stauffer of Macungie, PA; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by all her siblings, brothers, Joseph, Edward, John and Louis and sisters, Regina and Stephanie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 23 in St. John the 23rd Catholic Church, 266 West Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA. Interment in St. Jerome Cemetery, Lombard Street, Tamaqua will follow the Mass. Call 9:30-11AM in the church.
