Obituary of Mary Ann Bisignani
MaryAnn Bisignani, a long-time resident of Dickson City went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 3. Born in Jessup, daughter of the late Helen Jakunski and Geremia (Frank) Galli, she was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Olyphant. She lived in Hoboken, NJ and moved to Throop when she was in high school.
MaryAnn graduated from the Lackawanna College of Business and first went to work at General Mills. She then worked at PNC Bank-in the Trust Department. During the last twenty years she was employed as the Parish Secretary for St. Patrick’s now Holy Cross Church, Olyphant, Pa., a job that she truly loved. She participated in many committees and was a Eucharistic minister.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard Bisignani, and her children, Kathryn Tomasofsky and husband, Paul (Montvale, NJ); Richard Bisignani, Jr. (Jessup, Pa.); Maria Harrell and husband CPT Ronald Harrell, USN (ret.) (Jacksonville, Fl); and Dr. Lynn Mailloux and husband Brian (New York, NY). MaryAnn was an intrepid traveler and enjoyed many trips with her children – to Panama City, Florida; Hawaii; Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands; and California. Her greatest joys were her children and her grandchildren, Christian, Morgan, Nicole, MaCayla, Parker and Sean, whom she left with a legacy of love and laughter.
MaryAnn is survived by her sisters, Gerri Dunda and Nancy Casama, her brother, Frank Galli, cousins, nieces and nephews who also showed her great amounts of love and respect. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Janet McVicar.
MaryAnn was active in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of the Diocese of Scranton and ran the bookstore ministry for many years at their annual conferences. She believed in the power of prayer and was active in the healing ministry where she touched many people’s lives.
The family wishes to thank all of MaryAnn’s doctors and nurses who supported her during her sicknesses at the Geisinger-Community Medical Center and Allied Services Skill Nursing.
In celebrating MaryAnn’s life, we ask that you wear a brightly colored accent to the funeral.
The funeral will be on Saturday with mass of Christian burial at 6 pm at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Everyone attending the mass is asked to go directly to church. Viewing hours will be held on Friday from 3 to 7 pm at the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville.
