Obituary of Kurt Serafini Kurt J. Serafini, 48 a lifelong resident of Peckville died unexpectedly Thursday at home. Born in Scranton, he was the son of Marilyn Carroll Serafini, Peckville and the late Joseph “Ralph” Serafini. Kurt was a graduate of Valley View High School and Temple University where he received a degree in Psychology. He was employed by Friendship House and Keystone Residential Services of Scranton. Kurt demonstrated an indomitable spirit for life and love for people. He accepted life’s difficulities and misfortunes while conducting himself with honor and dignity. He was able to find happiness being in service of others. He was blessed by having a strong and loyal group of friends. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend . Also surviving are a brother, Gregg Serafini and wife Tammy, Archbald, a sister, Susan Serafini, Austin, TX,nephews,Gino, Dominic and Evan Serafini and R.J. Speicher and a niece, Ciara Speicher, and cousins. The funeral will be Tuesday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 10119 Main Street, Peckville, with mass at 10 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Willow St. Peckville. Interment, St. Francis cemetery, Eynon.
