Esther H. Cullen (Hackenberger) Esther H. Cullen, 101, of Hummelstown, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018. Born in Mifflintown on October 8, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth “Bessie” Yetter and William A. Hackenberger. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Cullen; her daughter, Lynda Myers Skiles; and granddaughter, Patricia Pitman. She worked as an office worker for the state of Pennsylvania and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, needlework, crocheting, tatting, playing golf, and was an avid reader. Esther is survived by daughter, Cheryl A. Laudermilch wife of Gerald of Hummelstown; son, James E. Cullen husband of Bach Le of Texas; six grandchildren, Pamela Cullen, Christopher Cullen, Gerald Laudermilch Jr., Michelle Laudermilch, Donald Kuykendall, and Robert Dall; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 11 AM at the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, 208 Lemon Street, Mifflintown, PA 17059. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the American Heart Association at 1019 Mumma Road, Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
