Obituary for Trenton Michael Burkhart Trenton Michael Burkhart ORRVILLE—Our beloved Trent died on March 18, 2018. He was 25. Born on May 29, 1992, Trent was the spitting image of his father and their bond was like no other. His mother loved him fiercely. His older sister was his most loyal and steadfast protector. His younger brother looked up to him as only little brothers can do. He was generous, mischievous, and had an unforgettable laugh. From his early days, it was clear that Trent was going to live life on his own terms. His adventures started young. Instead of playing along the edges of his grandparent’s pond, he would jump right in, fully clothed, darting after that ever elusive frog or water snake, a big grin spread from ear to ear. He always ran too fast, jumped too high and landed too hard. And then he would do it again. To him, rules were someone else’s concern. He was led by something stronger than convention. He was always searching for something that remained just beyond his reach. As he grew older, he went further and further from home until he couldn’t find the way back again. In the end, the grasp of his addiction was stronger than the love of his family and community. He will be terribly missed by his family. Trent is survived by his father, Michael Burkhart (Jennifer); mother, Jennifer Long; sisters, Samantha Burkhart (AJ Wright) and Megan Hochstetler; brother, Zach Long; grandparents, Janet Burkhart, Susie and Reese Davies, Gail Smith, and Ike Long; aunt, Christine Burkhart (Denise Gavin); uncles, Tony Long (Jennifer) and Timothy Burkhart; nephew, Jaelen Wright; and a niece, Julianna Wright. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dean Burkhart. Private family services will be held. There will be no calling hours and cremation will take place.
