Robert (“Bob”) E. Nida, 86, of Robin Road, Waverly, Ohio, died at 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in Traditions at Bristol Village, Waverly, Ohio. Bob was born on September 7, 1931, in Athens, Ohio, the son of the late Stanley Nida and Lena (Sams) Nida. On May 27, 1956, he was united in marriage with Jeanette Elizabeth (Fenby) Nida who preceded him in death on June 19, 2017. Surviving are his four daughters, Anita Browning and husband Dave of North Chesterfield, Virginia, Nan Fife and husband Ken of Vienna, Austria, Joy Wood of Brook Park, Ohio, and Renee Nida of Silver Spring, Maryland. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and his sister Marilyn Marlatt and her husband Ralph of Westlake, Ohio. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Garry Nida. He attended the Orchard Hill United Church of Christ in Chillicothe, Ohio. He served nearly forty years as a pastor in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. He went to seminary at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, where he met his wife, Jeanette. He later received a Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. The memorial service will be held at a later date. Courtland Dr., Chillicothe OH 45601), Manna Café (c/o Broad Street United Methodist Church, 501 E. Broad St., Columbus OH 43215), or The Open Shelter (61 E. Mound St., Columbus OH 43215).
