George Oliver Earll, 96, of Waverly, Ohio, died April 26, 2018 at Traditions at Bristol Village, Waverly, Ohio. George was born June 6, 1921, in Elmhurst, IL, the son of the late Charles Frederick Earll and Caroline (Schoen) Earll. On June 13, 1942, he married Patricia Leanora (Sedgwick) Earll who preceded him in death on January 11, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Earll. Surviving are daughters: Dawn Thomas of MI, Bonnie Davey (Michael) of VA, and sons: Thomas Earll (Julie) of IL, and Jeffrey Earll (Sally) of OR. George is also survived by his eight beloved grandchildren, Valerie Thomas, Owen Thomas, Shannon Davey Floyd, Justin Davey, Kevin Earll, Katy Earll Wolf, Emily Earll Stary, and Marisa Earll and by his special friend, June Close of Waverly, Ohio. George was a Vice President of Elmhurst National Bank, a veteran of WWII (U.S. Army Air Corps) and a member of Waverly Grace United Methodist Church. George delighted in telling jokes and stories, reading, watching movies, playing golf, carpentry, woodworking and stained glass. He loved music and concerts, singing harmony, and playing the piano, clarinet and harmonica. George was a gentleman; brave and generous. He acted on his belief that we should help others and express gratitude for help received. He loved and treasured his family and many friends. His good humor and kindness will be missed by all. Memorial contributions may be made Bristol Village Foundation or Grace United Methodist Church of Waverly, Ohio. All friends and Bristol Village staff are invited to celebrate George Earll’s life.
