Obituary for Charles Junior Messer Charles J. Messer, 92, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Charles was born on September 12, 1925 in Olive Hill, Ky., to Harrison and Blanch (Fisher) Messer. He was a contractor most of his life. Later in life he retired from Crane Plumbing. He enjoyed music, playing his guitar and singing in church. He was a member of Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church. He also enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, playing card games and spending time with his family. He is survived by four daughters, Faye (Charles) Boggs, Delores (Garry) Mills, Patty Johnson (John Hinton), and Tammy (James) Kovatch; four sisters, Shirley Hedge, Margaret (Bill) Arnold, Betty Kegley, and Phyllis Underwood; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Etnigh (Smith) Messer; three brothers, J.T. Messer, Ralph Messer, and Glenn Messer; and two sisters, Juanita Everman and Inez Rogers. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church, 1602 Walker Lake Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44906. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
