Obituary for Annie LaVee Davis Annie LaVee Davis, 89, of Ayden, passed away on April 9, 2018 at her home. She entered this world on May 29, 1928 in Johnson Co., NC to Rufus and Neta Toler Woodard. She was one of six children from this union. LaVee was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carey M. Davis, both parents and all five of her siblings. She was raised in Goldsboro and work in her younger years as a bookkeeper. She left work to pursue a nursing degree. Upon graduating from college, she went to work as a nurse for the State of NC and retired from Caswell Center. LaVee was an active person who loved life. She was a faithful member of Grifton UM Church and was always willing to lend a helping hand anywhere it was needed. She loved her church family, sang in the choir for many years and involved herself in the Women’s Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed dancing, cross stitching and gardening in her yard. She was blessed with 89 wonderful years and it was not until recently that she had to slow down due to her health. LaVee is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Alexander and fiancé, Ronald O’Neil, of Ayden and Neta Blanchard and husband, Michael, of New York. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Christy, Charlie Jr., Clyde and Casey as well as eleven, soon to be twelve, precious great grandchildren and two very special church friends, Ervin Gray and Dottie Oakley. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Angela with Community Home Care and Hospice and the Greendale Forest Nursing Home for their support during this difficult time. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 2:00pm at Farmer Funeral Service-Ayden, with Rev. Richard Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro, NC.
