Obituary of Florence Miller Florence B. Miller, 93 of Ventnor, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday April 9, 2018. She was raised in the Pocono mountains in Glen Lyon, Pennsylvania. She moved to Baltimore during WWII and went to work for the Department of the Navy where she became an office manager. It was there Florence met the love of her life Jim Miller at a USO dance. She and Jim married and moved to Margate where Jim was from. They started their family while Florence was a stay-at-home mother raising her daughters Lorraine and Diane. She was active in the local schools as a Room Mother and helping with her daughter’s girl scout troop. Florence eventually went back to work as an admissions clerk for Atlantic City Medical Center from 1975 -1987. After retirement she worked part-time for various doctors doing medical billing. Florence loved crossword puzzles and talking politics. She enjoyed feeding her birds and loved animals. She was famous in the neighborhood for her delicious Christmas cookies and birthday cakes. Survived by her daughter Diane P. Frandino and son-in-law Carl Frandino. Florence B. Miller was preceded in death by her husband Jim Miller and daughter Lorraine Miller Clay. The family would like to thank the Eastern Pines Convalescent Center for their outstanding care of Mom. A service will be held 2PM, Saturday April 14, 2018 at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 7300 Ventnor Avenue, Ventnor, with a visitation beginning at 1PM, In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your favorite charity.
