Obituary for Flavia Marisca Flavia Marisca, 96, of West Caldwell, NJ, formerly of Neptune NJ, died on Friday, March 30, 2018. Born September 15,1921 to Rocco and Giovanna Magri, she was a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music in NYC. An active musician for more than 50 years, she began as the organist and choral director for Holy Innocents Roman Catholic Church in Neptune, NJ and later became the full time organist and choral director for St Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church in Avon by the Sea until she retired at the age of 86. A tireless volunteer, Flavia dedicated her life in service of others. Raising thousands of fundraising dollars for her parish, she was one of the original founders of the Holy Innocents Ceramic Group and hosted many other fundraising events as a parishioner of Holy Innocents Church. Her love of knitting and crocheting allowed her to donate many items to local charitable organizations well into her nineties. Flavia was predeceased by her husband, Charles Marisca in 1974. She is survived by her children: Frances Casciano and her husband, Lawrence of Cranford NJ, Charles Marisca and his wife, Diane, of Caldwell, NJ, Stephanie Marisca of Wakefield RI, AJ Marisca and his wife, Leigh Anne of Grayslake,IL; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Her Funeral Mass will be held at St Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church in Avon by the Sea, on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11:00AM.
