Obituary for Robert Lee Swagler Memorials to St. Jude Hospital Robert Lee Swagler was born on September 14, 1943 in Wadsworth, Ohio to Harold and Erma (Mobley) Swagler. He grew up on the family farm near Killbuck, Ohio where he attended grade school and graduated from Killbuck High School in 1961. As a young boy, Bob enjoyed hunting and raising his pet raccoon and duck but most of his time was spent working on the farm and around the house. Bob married Mary Carter on November 8, 1973 at the Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio and they have lived in Texas and Colorado before settling in Nebraska. Bob has worked as a meat cutter in a grocery store, a manager for Addressograph-Multigraph, that led him to several promotions and transfers to Texas and Colorado. He worked for Frontier and Continental Airlines as a warehouse manager before moving to Omaha where he worked as a purchasing agent for Intersystems. Bob enjoyed gardening and working with mechanical things, but his passion was his lawn and home in which he took great pride and joy in. He was a kind, caring man who was proud of the meticulous detail that he would devote to every project he took on. Bob was a faithful caregiver for Mary and treasured his family. Bob was also well-known for what was referred to as Bobisms such as, “don’t thank me yet, you haven’t received an invoice” and a “thanks for the warning” when telling him you’d call him back. He was an avid Denver Bronco fan and savored a dinner of Beef and noodles or Chicken Cacciatore cooked by his wife, and a cold beer. Bob passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Erma, an infant brother and sister Mary. Bob is survived by his wife Mary; children Joe (Leada Sohl) Carter of Omaha, Jim (Ronda) Carter of Aurora, Colorado, Beth Oneill of Sacramento, California and Matt (Jennifer) Swagler of Omaha; 8 grandchildren Brian, Andy, Ashleigh, Emily, Mackenzie, Jordan, Sophie, Will, and 1 great granddaughter Audrey; brother Calvin (Janet) Swagler of Killbuck, Ohio.
