Obituary for John Allen Toms (Buffalo)
John Allen Toms, son of the late Ida (Dorman) Dillivan, was born on July 10, 1927 in Scranton, Iowa and departed this life on April 2, 2018 in Buffalo, Missouri. At the time of his passing he was 90 years, 8 months and 22 days of age.
John was born and raised in Scranton, Iowa where he attended school until the 8th grade. He then helped his father on the farm until he was 17 when he enlisted in the U.S Navy. After a short stent in the Navy he joined the U.S Army where he served for 20 years. He fought in WWII, Vietnam and Korea. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Buffalo. In his later years he served as a custodian at Buffalo High School.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Toms; and one sister, Nellie Mae Thomas. He leaves behind many Brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, friends and other family members who will all truly miss him.
