Deon Waddill, age 79, of Brookfield, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center, Marceline. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2018 at the First Christian Church, Brookfield, with Mandy Wiedeman officiating. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery in Winigan. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2018, and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield. Memorial donations to First Christian Church, Brookfield Senior Center, or Animal Shelter of Linn County may be left or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628. Elvin Deon, son of Hillis and Rosa Marie (Slaughter) Waddill, was born June 16, 1938 in Yarrow. On October 29, 1961 he married Nadine Phyllis Farson, who preceded him in death on January 3, 2017. Deon was a parts salesman for Carquest and a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Brookfield and the National Rifle Association. Survivors include two daughters, Renae Waddill, Brookfield and Charlyn (Robert) Knowles, Laclede; two grandchildren T.J. (Roxanne) Knowles, Brookfield and Beth Bagley, Brookfield; four great grandchildren, Trace and Brooklyn Knowles and Hayden and Sydnee Bagley; and one sister-in-law, Ethella McKee, Green Castle. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ellis Waddill; one sister-in-law, Linda Waddill, and two brothers-in-law; Leroy (Noreta) Long and Jim McKee
