August P Dudenhoeffer Jr September 28 1937 April 6 2018

Obituary for August P. Dudenhoeffer, Jr. August P. Dudenhoeffer, Jr., 80, of Jefferson City passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at home surround by his loving family. He was born on September 28, 1937 in Chamois the son of the late August Peter, Sr. and Mary Johanna (Troesser) Dudenhoeffer. He was united in marriage on October 18, 1958 in Morrison, Missouri to Dolores T. Thuli, who survives at the home. He attended Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic School and graduated from Osage R-1 High School in Chamois. August was employed by the United Bank of Chamois, Central Electric Power Company and Ozark National Life Insurance Company. He was owner and operator of Dudenhoeffer Vending and Midwest ICEE in Chamois and the Village Snack Bar in Lake Ozark. August proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1959 to 1964. He was a member of the Chamois Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus (Linn) and the Capital City Horseshoe Club. August, (also known as Kirk, Bud, Augie, and Gus) enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors. He spent many hours boating with family and friends on the mighty Missouri river, where the family water skied, swam and had sandbar hot dog and marshmallow cookouts. He also enjoyed fishing, turkey and mushroom hunting, and driving his four-wheeler in the Osage county woods. He enjoyed playing cards and watching sports. He enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball (he was the team captain for the family volleyball team called the Auggie’s Doggies). His favorite sport by far was pitching horse shoes. He has won many trophies, but really treasured all the nice people he met and played against at the tournaments he participated in. He also spent many hours watching his children and grandchildren play basketball, soccer, volleyball, violin music performances and art exhibits. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa and friend. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Augie had a very special love for Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mother Mary. His family is very happy that he is now resting peacefully in their warm loving care and protection.
