Joyce Renee, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Evans) Lennon, was born on July 19, 1945 in Faribault. She attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1963. Following high school Joyce attended nursing school; where after, she spent the rest of her life sharing her special gift of caring for others. On October 8, 1966 she was united in marriage to Frederick (Fred) Gulden, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Faribault; the result of a chance meeting at a local dance hall, where Frederick couldn’t stop thinking about this one special girl, that he hoped he would be lucky enough to see again. Joyce and Fred lived in many different states over the years but chose to come back home to Minnesota for retirement; where they enjoyed new adventures on a lake in Rush City, motorcycle rides with her sister and brother-in-law and weekday trips to the local casinos for some penny slots and buffet dinners. Winters were spent in Mesa, AZ with a wonderful group of friends who lived by the motto, ‘It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere’. Joyce was a devoted grandmother whose love of camping, pontoon rides, sweet treats, birthday parties, afternoon trips to a local arcade and garage sales will forever be a part of her grandchildren’s memories. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Frederick Gulden of Faribault; by her children, Dena (Brian) McDonald-Watschke of Minneapolis, MN, Joe (Alisha) Gulden of Streamwood, IL and Jennifer (Rick) Milton of Farmington, MI; by five grandchildren; by her sisters, Judy (Milt) Plaisance of Faribault and Mary Jane Barnes of Lake Elmo, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Joyce R. Gulden please visit our Sympathy Store.
