Dorothy Ann Johnson, 70, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Cass County Medical Care Facility in Cassopolis. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 11, at Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, where friends may visit from 11 a.m. until service time, which will be at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Dorothy was born May 9, 1947, in Chicago, the daughter of Frank and Mary Zappia Sr. She was a certified dental assistant and she also completed nursing school. Her nursing career began in hospital nursing, and she later concentrated on caring for the elderly. Dorothy loved her large Italian family and her pet toy poodles, and she enjoyed collecting miniatures. Survivors include her son, Ryan Roberts of Texas; her mother, Mary Zappia of Eau Claire; her brother, Frank (Kay) Zappia Jr. of Berrien Springs; niece, Annie (Mark) Beardsley; and nephews, Tony (Summer) Zappia and Kent (Alice) Zappia. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father in 2003.
