Obituary for Catherine Louise Brydels Turner A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Catherine Louise Brydels Turner at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018, at St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. Craig Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Hemphill Star Cemetery, Boyce, under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mrs. Catherine Louise Brydels Turner (91) of Alexandria passed from this life on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. She retired after 30 years of service as a registered nurse, working at Cabrini Hospital and Pinecrest State School. Catherine enjoyed making “dogbone” pillows and giving them to family and friends. She loved working in her flower beds and gardening. Catherine was well known for her pecan pies and Christmas candy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who loved spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ray Turner; her parents, Jules Brydels, Sr. and Blondena Verzwyvelt Brydels; brothers, Jules Brydels, Jr., and Jack Verzwyvelt, Sr.; and sister-in-law, Mavis Brydels. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Turner, Randy Turner (Patricia), Cynthia Carruth, Paula Thomas (Mack), Scott Turner (Diane), Lisa Lachney (Clay); grandchildren, Stacie Tankersley (Mickey), Thomas Turner, Christopher Turner, Kelly Gushiken, Elizabeth Manceaux (Mikey), Kimberly King (Trey), Julie Thomas, Coleman Lites, Stephen Lites, and Megan Turner; great-grandchildren, Justin Barrett (Adrian), Michael King, Lane Barrett, Zachary King, Abigail Gushiken, Kaden Turner, Reagan Turner, and Ivy King; great- great granddaughters, Brylee Barrett, Brinlee Barrett and 18 step- grand/great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her three sisters, Clementine Michiels, Madeline Bender (Bob), and Judy Brydels; one brother, John Brydels (Faye); and numerous nieces and nephews.
