Obituary for Paul Wayne Britt Dateline: Godfrey, IL Paul Wayne Britt, 66, passed away at 10:20 am Monday April 16, 2018 at home. He was born on September 21, 1951 in Alton, IL the son of Wayland and Nora Lee (Lamm) Britt. Paul married Sandra K Vinyard on July 23, 1971 in Waynesville, MO. She survives. He retired from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 553 where he began his career in 1976 as an apprentice and retired in 2008 as a Journeyman pipefitter. He served his country in the US Army. Paul was a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge 25 AF&AM, the Ainad Shriner’s Lodge in East St. Louis and loved duck hunting. He also loved squirrel hunting, pheasant hunting, turtle hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Sandra; he is also survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kelly & Bruce Anderson, Laura & Daniel Gray, and Mindy Shelton; six grandchildren, Robert Paul Rainey, Brendan Stone Anderson, James Wayne Shelton, Owen Daniel Gray, Gunner Paul Gray, and Peyton Lynne Brown, one great grandson, Blake Allen Rainey; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayland & Marsha Britt, Steve & Linda Britt, and a sister, Linda Lee Britt; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, James L. Vinyard and a grandson, Bruce Shawn Anderson. Masonic Rites will be conducted at 9 am followed by visitation until time of funeral services at 11 am Saturday April 21, 2018 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Rev. Paul Militzer officiating with military rites by Alton VFW Post 1308. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Shriner’s Hospital.
