She was born on February 14, 1937 in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of Earl Meyer & Eileen (Judy) Meyer, both of whom preceded her in death. She married James Watts on September 4, 1954, and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1999. Della grew up in Robinson where she attended school. She worked at Victor Dana for a time, but worked most of her life as a housekeeper, starting at the Quail Creek Country Club before moving on to the Heritage in Hutsonville, IL and Cotillion Ridge Nursing Home in Robinson, where she worked for many years. At home, she put her green thumb to work in her garden and was especially fond of roses. She also loved working word puzzles and cooking for her grandkids. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #4549 Women’s Auxiliary, where she and James would dance nearly every Saturday night. As she got older, she could often be found working on crafts or coloring, and this brought her much joy in her twilight years. A private burial will be held at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
