Clarence Wayne Kimball, age 63, of Oakland, IL, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018.
Wayne was born February 28, 1955, in Charleston, IL, to Clarence Dale and Mary (Strader) Kimball. He married Cathy Lynn Apple on July 4, 1996, she survives.
Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and worked in civil service at Eastern Illinois University for many years. He was a member of the Clark County Sportsman’s Club and the AFSCME Union, and was a Boy Scout troop leader. Wayne was talented in many… Read More » areas and had a variety of hobbies and interests, including hunting, fishing, drawing and painting, woodworking, golfing, gunsmithing, playing the guitar, and artifact hunting. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Denver Broncos. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and he dearly loved his family.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother: Jim Kimball.
He is survived by his wife; five children: Kris Kimball of Westfield, IL; Dustin Kimball of Lorane, OR; Trevor (Danielle) McConkey of Harrisburg, IL; Catrina (Keith) Stanley of Charleston, IL; and Karen (Nick) Clapp of Oakland, IL; one brother: Bill (Barb) Kimball of Waterford, WI; three sisters: Karen Mendenhall of Robinson, IL; Mary Ann Kingery of Cañon City, CO; and Kathy (Wayne) Shotts of Bloomington, IN; a sister-in-law: Linda Kimball of Charleston, IL; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland, IL. A private funeral will be held at a later date.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
