Obituary for Billy Sims 86-year-old, Billy Sims of Herrick, Illinois died Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 9:20 PM at Moweaqua Nursing & Retirement Center, Moweaqua, Illinois. Burial will be Thursday April 26 in Antioch Cemetery, Herrick, Illinois. Billy Sims was born Monday, December 14, 1931 in Herrick, Illinois the son of George and Veda (maiden name Goff) Sims. Billy Sims was raised in Herrick and attended country school there. Billy was employed in construction and was a member of Laborers’ Local 159 in Decatur, Illinois. Billy Sims is survived by Sisters: Nelda Auvil of Decatur, Illinois and Genelle Black of Tower Hill, Illinois; Sons: Steve Sims of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Robert Sims of Port Charlotte, Florida; Daughters: Vickie Voswinkle (Rusty) of Jacksonville, Arkansas; Donna Sims of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Sherrie Botts (John) of Port Charlotte, Florida; six (6) grandchildren, and three (3) great-grandchildren. Billy Sims was preceded in death by his parents, Bothers: Delbert, Homer, Junior, and Arthur Sims; and Sister: Goldie O’Daffer. Special Friend Doris Moutrey assisted Billy Sims for the last years of his life and through his death, and the family is very appreciative of all her effort and support.
