Obituary for MSG James O. Jones
MSG James O. Jones
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, March 31, 2018, MSG James “Buck” Jones, Sr., U.S. Army (Ret.), 83, loving husband to the late Carole K. Jones.
Jim retired after 20 years as a Master Sergeant with the United States Army, 25 years in construction, and spent a lifetime as a loyal Falcons fan. He was a man of few words but when he spoke it was the God honest truth. Always there for those in need, he was a phone call away and you could count on him. Jim was a dedicated military and family man that could be trusted, relied on, and you could always lean on him. He was a father of the fatherless.
Family members include his daughter: Pam Clemmons (Michael); sons: Bucky Jones (Dawne) and Truman Brad Stearns; grandchildren: Allie Clemmons, Ashley Rocque, Hunter Runyan, and Harlee Jones; great grandchildren: Tristen and Hayden; and in addition to many friends that have adopted him as their dad.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Warrior Project, 701 Greene St., Suite 104, Augusta, GA 30901.
