Obituary for Eric Jonathan Benefield Eric Jonathan Benefield, 54, of Fort Oglethorpe went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2018. He was a member of Chattanooga Valley Presbyterian Church where he was affectionately known as “The Candy Man” by all of the children. Eric graduated from Chattanooga Valley High School Class of ‘87’. He was an avid Alabama fan and was the former Parts Manager at Mtn. View Nissan. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lonnie and Fay Benefield. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Benefield; one daughter, Caitlynn Taylor Benefield. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 12 noon the Chattanooga Valley Presbyterian Church @ 3371 Chattanooga Valley Rd. Flintstone, GA. 30725 with Pastor, Daniel Gilchrist officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in memory of Eric to the Walker State Prison Mentor Program, care of Chattanooga Valley Presbyterian Church @ 3371 Chattanooga Valley Rd. Flintstone, GA. 30725 The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until hour of service at the church. Arrangements by W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes, Fort Oglethorpe, GA.
