It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Emma Almeida Lomeli, on March 23, 2018, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born on April 3, 1927, one of eight children, to Julian and Natividad Almeida. She had loving and close relationships with her four brothers and three sisters throughout her life. She was a lifetime resident of San Pedro, and attended Barton Hill Elementary, Dana Jr. High School, San Pedro High School, and was a graduate of Banning High School. On November 21, 1947, she married the love of her life, Bennie Lomeli. She was a loving wife, and devoted stay at home mother. With her kind and giving heart, and compassionate gentle spirit, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a loving mother, an adoring grandmother, and her six precious great grandchildren beautifully captured her heart, and were her greatest joy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bennie, and her first born grandson, Bengie Enstedt. She is survived by her daughter Monica (Charles) Enstedt, her son Nick Lomeli, granddaughter Kelly (Leonardo) Leal, grandson Nick Lomeli, Jr., grandson Jeff (Stephanie) Lomeli, great grandchildren Cruz, Lola, Malia, Emma, Bennie and Isla, brother Arthur Almeida, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be offered at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, on Friday, April 6, at 10:00 am.
