Obituary of Eric Burnham
AIKEN, SC– SSG (Ret) Eric Glenn Burnham, age 68, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 26, 2018. Funeral services will be held at George Funeral Home on Saturday, April 7 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the AER fund, 307 Chamberlin Ave., Bldg. 33720, Ft. Gordon, Georgia, 33720.
Eric was born on January 31, 1950 in Dowagiac, MI, a son of the late Lawrence and Charlotte Ely Burnham. Eric obtained a B.A. in General Studies and a M.A. in Criminal Justice. He served honorably in the United States Army for twenty years, to include a deployment to Vietnam. After his retirement from the US Army, he began a second career as a Criminal Justice Instructor at Denmark Technical College.
Eric was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deanna Burnham, and sister, Laurie Camp. He is survived by three children, Allen Burnham (Amy) Aiken, SC, Peter Burnham (Marcia) Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, and David Burnham (Sandra) Hiram, GA; seven grandchildren, Courtney Thompson (Dillon), Jane Clarke (Bradley), Sara Burnham, William Burnham, Anne Burnham, Derrick Burnham, Shannon Tankersley (Joshua), and four great-grandchildren, Caleb Thompson, Christopher Clarke, Joshua Tankersley Jr. (JR), and Ethan Tankersley.
