Vernon Vern Roy Dewey 2018

Vern passed away March 21, 2018. He was surrounded by family and knew he was much loved.
Vern was born in Payette, Idaho, on October 18, 1940, to L. LeRoy and Zelma Dewey. Vern was the third child of six siblings.
His first job was at age 10; managing work and school, he graduated from Nampa High School in Idaho, attended 1 year of college then enlisted in the Idaho Army National Guard. After an honorable discharge Vern worked in Idaho and then moved to Eastern, Oregon. Vern worked for Boise Cascade (29 yrs) as a truck driver. Vern and his wife Anita moved to Powell Butte, OR, in summer of 1999. Vern finished his career driving for Consolidated Freight and High Desert Feed. He retired in 2004, staying busy working a small cattle and horse operation on their property.
Vern is survived by his wife, Anita; daughter, Karma Ezell (Scott); daughter, Joan Fitzpatrick; son, John Dewey (Teressa); step-son, Michael Bones (Ashley); step-daughter Mindy Christiansen (C.W.); step-daughter Katie McDonald (Eric); son Jeremy Dewey (Kristen). Vern is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and two more on the way.
Vern loved to fish, hunt, and travel. His Tuesday morning coffee and Wednesday night poker groups were a highlight. Vern was a generous, loving, and humble man who treated everyone as a special friend. He will be missed.
Memorial services for Vern will be Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in Powell Butte, Oregon, at the Powell Butte Christian Church. All who knew and loved Vern are welcome.
