Obituary of Matthew Czech
Niskayuna – Matthew A. Czech, 91, passed away, peacefully, Monday March 26, 2018.
Matt was born in Schenectady the son of the late Catherine (Doda) and Adam Czech and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and Bryant College and proudly served in the US Navy during WW II in the Pacific Theatre. Matt worked for General Electric for 35 years, working in financial analysis in manufacturing, retiring in 1985. He was a long time communicant of both St. Mary’s Church and St. John the Evangelist Church, a member of the G E Quarter Century Club and American Legion Post 21.
Matt is survived by his children Linda Roman and Matthew Paul Czech and two nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn Klein Czech who died in 1990 and his two brothers Chester and Adam.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 9:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 816 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308. A calling hour will precede the mass from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at church. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church.
