Obituary of James Tierinni, Sr.
James “Jim” J. Tierinni Sr., 59, of New Haven, formerly of Manchester, died, Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in Hartford, CT on July 6, 1958. He was the son of the late Joseph and Angela (Pastore) Tierinni.
Jim grew up in East Hartford, graduated from Penny High School in East Hartford in 1976 and then went on to earn a degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University. After moving to Manchester, he began to pursue his dream of opening his own business. His first business venture was Bottom Line Bookkeeping. After that he embarked upon another dream to own a Hobby Store and opened up Manchester Hobbies. Most recently he founded 24/7 Ergo, a company which sold ergonomic furniture to businesses.
Jim loved going to the movies, playing and talking basketball, golf and softball, along with many other sports. He was passionate about his children and grandchildren as well as his businesses and the New York Yankees. An avid music fan, his favorites were Hall & Oates and the Gin Blossoms.
He is survived by his fiancée Elizabeth Osgood of Hamden; his three sons James Tierinni Jr. and his wife Sarah of Manchester, Jason Tierinni and his fiancée Amanda Rivers of Manchester and Spencer Tierinni of Windsor; his grandchildren Maya and Norah Tierinni; and his five siblings, Peter and Donna Tierinni of Vernon, John and Connie Tierinni of Manchester, Michael and Valerie Tierinni of Simsbury, Andrew Tierinni of Manchester and Matthew Tierinni of Glastonbury.
He was predeceased by his sister Jane Gaurudor (Tierinni).
Family and friends may call at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, Sunday from 2 to 6. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 AM at Church of the Assumption 29 Adams St. South, in Manchester, 285 West Center Street., Manchester.
