Wilma Jean Wendland passed away peacefully in her home on November 19, 2022. She was born October 17, 1943, to Willard D. Smith and Goldie Harris in Morton, Washington. Wilma grew up in Packwood, Washington, and graduated from White Pass High School in 1961 where she started her career as a secretary for the White Pass Superintendents’ office. She later went on to work as a secretary for the Packwood Ranger Station, Packwood/Randle Cemetery, Centralia Washington Superintendents office, and Scio Med of Spokane Washington. For a few years, she even had her own small business selling Wilma’s Costume Jewelry. Wilma was an extremely hard worker and was always very busy. She enjoyed cooking and hosting large family and friends gatherings, cake decorating, decorating her home, traveling, canning and gardening in her large flower garden. She had a very special talent for crocheting beautiful afghans and giving them to family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 31 years Willam Wendland, Daughter Gina (Yann) Deletang, Son Gerald (Dee) Rapali, Step-daughter Kristi Rice, and Stepson Scott ( Lori) Wendland. Grandchildren Aron (Athena) Loveland, Demi Deletang, Liam, Zymarie, and Vinny Rapali, Danielle Coppock, Stephen Rice, and Keira Wendland. Great grandchildren Una Loveland, and Evelynn Coppock. Brother & sister-in-law Jim and Judy Wendland, and numerous nieces and nephews. Wilma was super excited awaiting the arrival of another great-grandchild baby boy Loveland in 2023. Wilma had a larger-than-life personality and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
