Obituary Wilma I. Gibson, 94, of Monongahela, died Thursday, April 21, 2022 in Cambridge Hillside, North Charleroi. She was born October 28, 1927 in Centerville, the daughter of Paul A. and Juliann Burton Medved. Wilma was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish (Transfiguration). She retired from Corning Glass Company in Charleroi where she was employed for 16 years. She loved playing bingo and the lottery. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the 5th Floor staff at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital, the staff at Cambridge Hillside, and Caring Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Wilma throughout the years. She is survived by her son, John “Jack” Gibson of Monongahela; five granddaughters, Brittany, Justine, Johna, Mandy, and Llenelle; grandson, Louis; three great grandsons, Jackson, Henry, and Aden; sister, Marge Hvizda of Centerville; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, John “Jack” Gibson who died November 29, 1976; two sons, Paul and Louis; infant granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Gibson; two sisters, Helene Marrelli and Frances Medved; four brothers, Paul, Frank, Albert, and John Medved. Services for Wilma were private. Interment was in the Monongahela Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Frye Funeral Home, Inc.
