William’s Obituary William Wendel Covan, 81, of Banner, MS departed from this life at his home in Banner, MS on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was born on February 18, 1941, in Century, FL to the late William Robert Covan and Lula Presley Covan. Wendel attended Livingston College in Livingston, AL. Wendel spent many seasons of life as an English and History teacher at Mobile County Public School System until his retirement before moving to Mississippi. He loved Hereford cattle and worked hard with the cattle that he owned. Wendel will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind his wife, Rosalind Wilkinson Covan of Banner, MS; two daughters: Angela (Joey) Johnson of Grand Bay, AL; Skyla (Joe) Kemp of Leeds, AL; son, Lance (Shellie) Covan of Mobile, AL; six grandchildren: Jordan Johnson, Addison Kemp, Lane Embry Kemp, Graham Kemp, Pryor Covan, and Laura Grace Covan. Wendel is preceded in death by his parents, William Robert Covan and Lula Presley Covan. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. The funeral service celebrating Wendel’s life will take place on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Ryan Reed officiating. Rob Clanton, Casey Griffin, Trent Harrison, Jimmy Hubbard, Gary Ledbetter, and Scott Ledbetter will carry Wendel to rest in Memory Memorial Garden. The staff of Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the Covan family as they walk through this season of loss.
