William John Ferguson, 65 of Needham, MA. passed away suddenly on December 24, 2021 with his girlfriend; Kathy DelGaizo by his side. Born on July 23, 1956 in Arlington, MA; beloved son of the late William Steven & Mary (Melanson). Bill grew up in Watertown where he attended St. Patrick High School, class of 1974. and then went on to college at The New England School of photography in 1974. His passion for photography lead him into photographing many weddings. In July 1976, he married his high school sweetheart Catherine Rita McCarron (1957-1980) who also passed away on Christmas Eve in 1980. They had two beautiful children. Bill found love again and married the late; Anne (Bernard) Ferguson (1954-2014). Bill’s two children along with Anne’s three children became one family and created their own “Brady Bunch” Bill was a loving, encouraging, and very involved father. He had many passions other than Photography. He loved spending time with his 5 children and 7 grandchildren. Whether it was attending dance recitals, swim lessons, soccer games, birthday parties/dinners, or just hanging out watching Star Trek .Bill has worked at Protech in Roxbury, then Donato Tools in Watertown. His most recent job was as the AM team manager at Gymit in Watertown where he loved being “the old guy” and considered them “his family “Bill enjoyed a long career as an umpire & referee. He has always had a love for sports so this was very suiting for Bill. As a child, he loved The Boston Red Sox. In November of this year, Bill was offered the lead referee position for a high school football game that was held at Fenway Park. He was thrilled to have been so lucky to be a part of this experience and was happy to tell everyone how lucky he was. His family will hold onto this memory of him for a lifetime. Bill is survived by his devoted girlfriend Kathy DelGaizo of Needham. His loving children; William J. Dalton IV of Fuquay-Varina, NC . William Ferguson and his wife Amy of New Hartford, NY; Robert F. Dalton and his wife Rani of Waltham; Mandy Ferguson and her partner Christopher Walsh of Waltham; Laura Gries and her husband James Gries of Raleigh, NC; his cherished seven grandchildren; Lucas Ferguson, Izabella (Bella) Boyajian, Zachary Ferguson, Kailey Dalton, Catherine (Cate) Ferguson, Karina Dalton & Carson Gries. Along with many other family members. Friends and Family are respectfully invited to gather in the love Bill shared during visitation on Wednesday December 29, 2021, from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Followed by a Celebration of his life In The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels located 773 Moody St, Waltham, MA. Parking Attendants will be on duty.
