William “Bill” Joe Tye, 69 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, 100 W. Hwy OO, Odessa, MO, 64076. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the church. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Pat Tye. Jones funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Bill was born July 25, 1953, in Warrensburg, MO to Joel Columbus and Margaret Madora (Specker) Tye. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1972. On November 22, 1972, Bill was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Adamson in Odessa at the First Baptist Church. Bill was a machinist and a farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a Deacon and sang in the church choir. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Bill enjoyed the outdoors, but most of all the time spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife, Pat Tye of Odessa, MO; one daughter, Cheryl Thoeni and husband Michael of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren, Christian Hotchkin and wife Michaela of Odessa, MO, Caleb Hotchkin and wife Sierra of Odessa, MO., Christina Hotchkin of Basehor, KS, and Nevaeh Hotchkin of Odessa, MO; six great-grandchildren, Paxton, Kinsley, Aubree, Olivia, Delaney, and Grayson Hotchkin; one sister, Alice Ligon and husband Mike of Robstown, TX; and many relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chelse Hotchkin in infancy and a brother, Freddie Tye in infancy.
